DGS-CD | API 692 Double-Ended Dry Gas Seal for Compressors

DGS-CD is suitable for large shaft diameters and demanding applications.Non-contacting running seal faces, two sets of seal pairs are arranged in a back-to-back configuration. The surrounding seat design effectively reduces equipment damage caused by a broken seat. The auxiliary seal uses a high-performance polymer seal. It provides good temperature, pressure, and corrosion resistance. The seal can achieve zero process gas leakage. A trace amount of nitrogen leaks into the body and enters the process system. Both unidirectional and bidirectional grooves are available. The cartridge design simplifies installation and dismantling. The seal is suitable for low-pressure applications and poor process gas quality. It also suits toxic, harmful, and corrosive process conditions.

Operating Parameters:

Pressure: 0~3MPA

Temperature: -40~200℃

Linear Velocity: ≤160m/s

Shaft size : 45~250mm

The above limit application parameters are not met simultaneously, customized design for particular applications.

Material:

Metal parts: 410,304,316L,2507

Seal ring: SSiC-Carbon graphite,WC- Carbon graphite

Elastomer ring: FKM,FFKM

Spring: Hastelloy C

DGS-CD is a dry-running gas seal for centrifugal compressors. It features a double-ended gas seal and a cartridge design. It supports both unidirectional and bidirectional operation.

The double-ended dry gas seal consists of two single seals in an opposed configuration. It suits low-pressure applications where process gas leakage to the atmosphere is unacceptable.

Seal gas enters between the opposed seals at a pressure above the process gas pressure. Leakage from the primary seal enters the compressor or process system. Any buffer gas also enters the compressor or process system.

Leakage from the secondary seal typically vents to the atmosphere. If the primary seal fails, the secondary seal operates under primary seal conditions. This design prevents uncontrolled process gas leakage to the atmosphere.

Labyrinth and carbon ring separation seals are optionally available. DGS-CD can replace Burgmann DGS double seal types, John Crane Type 28 series, and Flowserve Gaspac L.
