DGS-PDN is an API 682 Arrangement 3 dry gas seal designed for pumps. It features a 3NC-FF face-to-face configuration with two stationary ring assemblies and one rotating ring, providing a compact axial design for applications with limited installation space. The non-contacting seal faces enable reliable operation at high rotational speeds while minimizing friction and wear.
The seal uses pressurized sealing gas at 0.2–0.3 MPa above the seal chamber pressure to prevent the process medium from escaping into the atmosphere. This design provides zero process-medium leakage to the environment, while only a small amount of sealing gas enters the pump.
DGS-PDN is suitable for a wide range of challenging process media, including toxic and hazardous, high-temperature, coke-forming, self-polymerizing, highly corrosive, and particle-laden fluids. Typical applications include services containing H₂S, solvents, benzene, quench oil, tar, methanol, and similar process media.
Replacement for Burgmann GSO-DN, John Crane Type 2800E, and Flowserve GX-200 seal types.
