Honeycomb seals can improve the power performance of steam turbines. Structurally, a honeycomb seal is made of regular hexagonal cells formed from 0.05–0.10 mm thick Hastelloy-X high-temperature alloy, replacing the teeth used in conventional labyrinth seals. It offers advantages such as excellent wear resistance, no damage to the shaft, long service life, and superior sealing performance.
