Type 212 mechanical seal is a single-face, multiple-spring, unbalanced seal with independent rotation direction. It is specially designed for glass-lined reactors, reaction vessels, mixers, and agitators handling corrosive media.

The seal features an alumina ceramic stationary ring and a filled PTFE rotating ring with a bellows structure. These materials provide excellent corrosion resistance for demanding chemical applications. The cartridge design also simplifies installation and maintenance.

To prevent dry running, Type 212 operates immersed in an open oil reservoir. This design provides reliable lubrication for the sealing faces during operation. For medium temperatures above 80°C, a cooling jacket with water cooling is required.

Type 212 is suitable for highly corrosive gases such as chlorine and hydrogen fluoride. It can also be used with corrosive liquids, including sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid. It is widely applicable to glass-lined reactors and agitators in chemical processing and other corrosive service applications.
