API Plan 54 is a pressurized external barrier fluid system for dual pressurized mechanical seals, delivering continuous clean, cooled barrier fluid to ensure zero process leakage. Unlike Plans 53A and 53B with self-contained reservoirs, it uses an independent pump or external system to maintain pressure and flow, offering better cooling, lubrication and contaminant removal.
